After <a href="http://sandiego.padres.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=114789">Brian Giles</a> singled in the first, Dempster retired the next 15 batters he faced.<br /><br />Not to take anything away from Lilly and Dempster's lights out performances, but what does this say about the Pads? <br /><br /><span id="fullpost">They whiffed 14 times total, one day after striking out 15 times against <a href="http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=150404">Ted Lilly</a> and the Cubs’ pen.
