This news doesn't affect you as an All-Star voter... I'll get to the part that concerns you in just a minute. The big dogs at the Commissioner's Office have decided to add one more pitcher from each league, by manager's choice, bringing the total of each All-Star roster to 33 players -- 13 hurlers -- for the July 14th game in St. Louis.
Here's where you guys come in.
We're holding a Home Run Derby Challenge, in which our readers guess who will hit the most bombs and why (the why is the most important part) at this year's contest, even though we have no idea who will participate yet. The beauty of this, is that you can show off your psychic powers now, or guess later on once the players are announced. Oh yeah, the why. Because he crushes balls... and cause Josh Hamilton won't be swinging for the fences this year.
I love how "who will hit the most bombs" is linked to Morneau's player profile. I'm gonna go ahead and pick Albert Pujols, because he's like a turtlehead that just can't be stopped.

As a Cardinals fan, I'm hoping that Pujols tanks it, so it won't affect him the rest of the season. Otherwise; I'll pick Juan Pierre.
Evan Longoria because Evan is a beast and that kid can just plain hit! (and because Grady Sizemore probably won't be participating!)
I'm picking Prince Fielder. He might be on the juice, but at least he doesn't omit his toast and eggs.

I'm gonna go ahead and pick Ryan Howard for several reasons:
A) I'm a Phils fan. I've seen up close and personal the wrath of Big Brown.
B) He's got to validate Manuel putting him on the team.
C) It's St. Louis, his hometown.
D) I'm sure at least once they will cut away to his parents in the stands. Anytime they cut to his parents, he hits a homer. It's fact. Look it up.
E) He's freakin' due, man. He hasn't hit a homer in a while.
