It's Always Sunny in St. Petersburg
Evan Longoria, recent AL Player of the Week, had quite a night for the first place Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday.
The 22-year-old third baseman went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs to aid his team in a second sweep of the Boston Red Sox, rallying from a 3-run deficit in the seventh inning for a 7-6 victory.
Among chants of "Sweep! Sweep! Sweep!" at Tropicana Field, the Rays now find themselves 20 games above .500 at 52-32. Which is really more than remarkable when you consider they've never won more than 70 games in a season (2004). The Rays are on pace to win 100 this year... which might not happen, but it's a good pace nevertheless.
If you haven't hopped on the bandwagon to St. Petersburg yet, now may be the time.
Curtsey to Dan at Red Sox Monster for the video goodness.
Also, Troy Percival sure picked the right time and the right team to make his return, gracing the cover of the latest ESPN magazine along with fellow Rays stars Evan Longoria, Akinori Iwamura and Carl Crawford.
