Phil Hughes Out For Summer

Due to a stress fracture in one of his ribs, Phil Hughes won't be pitching again until at least July.

The highly-touted, yet commandless youngster is 0-4 with a 9.00 ERA over six outings this season, which kinda sucks since he was supposed to be a solid member of the rotation.

This is bad, bad news for the injury-ravaged New York Yankees, who recently shut down Jorge Posada, Alex Rodriguez and Brian Bruney, as well. Plus, they're not feeling so hot after being swept by the Detroit Tigers in their own house, something that hasn't happened since 1966.

However, this is excellent news for right-hander Darrell Rasner, who went 4-0 with a 0.87 ERA in five starts with the AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yanks, and will start in Hughes’ place this Sunday against the Seattle Mariners.
