Hawpe Gets Paid

Brad Hawpe and the Colorado Rockies agreed to a $17.425 million deal on Tuesday, betting on at least three more seasons together with a club option for 2011.

The 28-year-old right-fielder hit .291 last season with 29 longballs and 116 RBIs. Some of his better splits included batting .377 RISP with two outs and going 9-for-20 with the bags full.

And Hawpe is thrilled. He offered this take on the organization,

"I think there’s a good thing going on here, not just the players and the front office, but everyone involved all the way through the minor league system."
