Tribe, Betancourt Reach Two-Year Deal

The Cleveland Indians locked up one of the best setup men in the American League last season in Rafael Betancourt, agreeing on a two-year deal Wednesday. The amount of the contract is still unknown, but it does include a club option for 2010. He made $840,000 last season.

The 32-year-old righty, whose OCD is apparent in the moments that lead up to his delivery, went 5-1 with a 1.47 ERA in 68 appearances in 2007, primarily in the eighth inning before the Tribe's closer, Joe Borowski came in to finish the job.

In other Indians news, the club discussed dollar signs with Casey Blake, who is seeking $6.9 million. Cleveland countered with a $5.4 million offer to the 34-year-old third baseman, who made $3.75 million last year.
