Duchscherer Gets One-Year Deal

Justin Duchscherer and the Oakland Athletics avoided arbitration this week, agreeing on a $1.2 million, one-year deal.

The right-handed reliever missed most of last season due to a sore right hip, appearing in only 17 games for a 3-3 record and 4.96 ERA before landing on the DL in mid-May and undergoing hip surgery in July. He got to show off his stuff in 2005 however, going 7-4 with a 2.21 ERA in 65 games as an All-Star.

Justin was one of four arbitration-eligible players on the A's roster, including fellow reliever Huston Street, and starters Chad Gaudin and Joe Blanton.

How many places did you look up Duke's name to get the right spelling Sooze?

It was pounded into my brain the day Dick and Bert butchered it...

Wow that's truly impressive. I'm not sure I could spell it accurately though. It's too long & hard for me.
