Phillies Get Jenkins, Durbin

Chad Durbin and Geoff JenkinsOutfielder Geoff Jenkins has agreed to a $13 million, two-year contract with the Philadelphia Phillies.

In the absence of wall-smashing, turf-diving Aaron Rowand, who joined the San Francisco Giants on December 12th for five years and $60 million, Jenkins will have some big shoes to fill. The veteran may see some time in left field, but will most likely roam right, splitting time there with Jayson Werth.

Jenkins, 33, hit .255 with 21 homers and 64 RBIs in 132 games for the Milwaukee Brewers last season.

The Phils also agreed to a one-year, $900,000 deal with pitcher Chad Durbin. The 30-year-old righty, who said the Phillies became one of his favorite teams to watch down the stretch last season, went 8-7 with a 4.72 ERA in 36 games with the Detroit Tigers in 2007, including 19 starts and 17 relief appearances.

I'm super excited about Aaron Rowand going to the Giants. It's a really good move for them and should pay off dividends for the future.
