...and all of Minnesota is invited.
The occasion? The Minnesota Twins traded Ramon Ortiz to the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday for minor league infielder Matt Macri.
Ortiz was signed to a $3.1 million, one-year contract after going 11-6 with the Washington Nationals last season. Demoted to the bullpen in late May due to non-stop suckiness, Ramon saw his time on the hill diminish as the season progressed. After appearing in 28 games - 18 out of the bullpen - he is 4-4 with a 5.14 ERA.
The 34-year-old righty was shocked and pretty bummed about the club's decision to ship him off, but he'll most likely have more opportunities to pitch in Colorado, anyway.
The Rockies are just three games out of the wild-card lead in the National League and five games behind the first-place Arizona Diamondbacks out West.
Macri, a 25-year-old Notre Dame graduate from Des Moines, Iowa began the season with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers where he hit .298 in 79 games. He then spent three games with the AAA Colorado Springs Sky Sox prior to the deal.

KICK. ASS.
I, Stu, know this will cause grumbling in the clubhouse, since he was allegedly well-liked. I also don't care. I've seen our non-Morneau infielders play. We need a few more options there, and rumor has it the Twins organization has pitching depth.
Yeah, looks like a good trade to me. I'm not positive, but what I've seen on Rockies blogs looks like this guy is a pretty good player.
Is Rincon next? One can only hope.
What's with that Des Moines, IA link?
Stu, Megs and TT - I'm pumped about it as well. Nicities don't win ballgames, sadly.
Anon- It's a car.
